Art JuXtapose Gallery presents the thematic exhibition: Underrepresented Artist. The exhibition will be held at Art JuXtapose Gallery from April 1st to April 30th, 2020.
This exhibition is open to all interpretations of the concept. All media and interpretations of the theme will be reviewed and considered.
Verb: to give inadequate representation to; represent in numbers that are disproportionately low. An underrepresented group describes a subset of a population that holds a smaller percentage within a significant subgroup than the subset holds in the general population. This call is for primarily for artists of color, and/or artwork that depicts people of color, but all submissions will be considered.
When submitting explain how you feel you are an underrepresented artist? How is being a person of color influenced your artwork?
Please submit artwork to sylvia@artjuxtapose.com or syldiaz@optonline.net. Artwork can be no bigger than 36” x 36”. Art JuXtapose Gallery does not take a commission from sold pieces.
The deadline for submission is March 20th. The fee is $30 for four pieces, additional pieces $5 each. The fee is due upon submitting artwork. Please pay the fee through Paypal using sylvia@artjuxtapose.com.
