Swarm: Invasion of the Insects, May 20 – August 28, 2016
Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center
This exhibit invites artists to submit works that are inspired by insects – creatures that represent 90% of animal life on Earth. The jury seeks works that find their inspiration in the prolific world of insects, from their form and color, to their mating and eating habits, to their many intriguing survival strategies. Whether bugs are the fodder for fantastical creations, or a means for artists to engage with the sciences, the jury seeks to create a lush exploration of insects. All media welcome; small to large-scale installations; new media encouraged; indoor and outdoor works accepted; cash awards to be presented. Juror to be announced.
