Zygote accepts applications for two 14-day Open Call residencies per year, (typically) one in summer and one in winter. Qualified artist residents should be printmakers in the U.S. or abroad with the aim to work on a special project in Zygote’s Cleveland facilities.
These residencies include free housing in the Zygote Press Artist Share Space (ZPASS) loft apartment — a live-work accommodation above the E. 30th St. studio — as well as a stipend and full access to the shop for two weeks. In exchange, residents give a lecture or demonstration and donate one work created at Zygote to the archive. Additional Zygote funding is not available for travel costs. The precise 2-week time slot of residencies will be agreed upon by Zygote’s Residency Director and the selected artist based on availability of ZPASS.
Criteria: All printmakers
Residency: 14-days Spring (May) OR 14-days Fall (September)
Artist Talk: last week of residency scheduled by Residency Manager
Stipend: $500 & ZPASS Housing
Print for Zygote Archive: leave one print created during the residency
Shop Orientation / Instruction: 2 hours
