Artists of all levels and abilities are invited to participate in a group exhibition of small works in the Susquehanna Art Museum’s historic bank vault! Because the original bank vault walls are lined with steel, the 4” x 12” submissions must be created on the magnetic templates available at the museum. The magnet shape was selected for the vault because of its reference to the measurements of currency notes. The theme is open- let your imagination guide you.
To Participate:
– To be included, artists must purchase a magnetic template at the museum beginning September 23.
– Templates may be shipped for an additional cost, contact LNye@SusquehannaArtMuseum.org for shipping details.
– All submissions must be on a magnet provided by the museum.
– Magnets will be sold on a first come first served basis.
– Limit 5 per artist, $10 each.
– Finished pieces may be listed for sale. Sales forms will be provided at the time of purchase.
– Submissions must be delivered to the museum by December 2.
– All levels of experience and ages are welcome. You may paint/draw directly onto the magnet or attach items to it. If you are attaching layers to the template, please keep in mind that the magnet must still be able to hold the work in place.
– In the Vault will be on view December 9, 2016 – February 19, 2017
