FOCUS photo l.a. is an online competition and part of the educational component of photo l.a., the annual photographic art fair based in Los Angeles, which strives to spotlight the best emerging and career artists working in fine art photography.
For 27 years, photo l.a. has celebrated and brought together the photography and arts communities in Los Angeles and the world around. It is with this mission in mind that we present a photography competition with our partners, A & I Photography and AC Gallery, to help provide emerging and career artists/photographers opportunities to broaden their career opportunities and promote their work through the photo l.a. network.
With an estimated 10,000 attendees each year, dozens of programming presentations, lectures and seminars, and over two decades of history, photo l.a. is a fixture in the world of fine art photography, attracting international collectors, galleries, and dealers.
Through our long established partnerships with world-renowned photography galleries, art fairs, museums, curators and publications, winners of past FOCUS photo l.a. competitions have had the rare opportunity to foster relationships, hone their craft and promote their work within the photographic arts community.
For the Summer 2018 edition of FOCUS photo l.a., the top twenty (20) finalists will exhibit this July during Rencontres d’Arles 2018 and seen by over 90,000 visitors to the annual photography festival in Arles, France. One (1) lucky Grand Prize Winner will also receive round-trip airfare and three-night lodging to attend the opening night of the FOCUS photo l.a. Summer 2018 exhibition. Submit your work early for a chance to be featured on our social media channels and photo l.a. network.
