Heidi Gallery at JSDD is proud to announce the juried group exhibition, Threads. Established in 2021 as a key component of the state-of-the-art facility of JSDD, the Heidi Gallery is focused on bringing people together to experience art and arts education while fostering a fully inclusive community.

Heidi Gallery invites artists working in the medium of fiber, wholly or as a component of their original work to submit to this first fiber focused exhibit, Threads. The show intends to highlight the innovative and wide range of contemporary works being created using synthetic or natural fibers or textiles and stretching the boundaries of techniques in these materials. All work submitted must be original and completed in the last three years.

JUROR: Nettie Forne Thomas
A longtime arts educator and former administrator in the Newark Public School System in Newark, New Jersey. Nettie’s work has been widely exhibited on college campuses and in regional museums.

Nette Forné Thomas is currently serving as President of Pen and Brush a 128 years old, women’s visual and literary arts organization in New York. Additionally, Nette has curated and managed exhibits for various art organizations. Among these are Passaic County Community College, the Studio Montclair Gallery, The Morris Museum, and Art In the Atrium in Morristown, NJ. She has also selected and curated the artwork of renowned artists for solo exhibits in celebration of Black History Month at the 1978 Maplewood Arts Center in New Jersey.

The Gallery, located at 310 Eisenhower Parkway, Livingston, NJ, is 2,000 square feet with moveable walls, is an adaptive and creative space to feature fiber work in all possible forms including 2d, sculpture and installation.

The exhibition is open to artists living or working in NJ, NY, PA and CT.ENTRY FEE
