Silver Eye Center for Photography announces a Call for Entries for Fellowship 15, our international photography competition. Now in its 15th year, this competition recognizes both rising talent and established photographers from all corners of the globe and from the state of Pennsylvania.

Awards

The International Award is open to all U.S. and international photographers.
Solo exhibition at Silver Eye opening late-January 2015

The Keystone Award is reserved for an artist currently living and/or working in the state of Pennsylvania.

Juror’s Commendations

Up to five (5) Juror’s Commendation winners will be named on Silver Eye’s website and press release, including one selected work from each winner being showcased in an online gallery.
Eligibility

All U.S. and international amateur and professional photographers, age 18 and older at the time of submission, may apply.

Silver Eye staff and their relatives, board members, current interns, and past Fellowship winners are not eligibile to apply.

Juror: Allison Grant
Allison Grant is a curator, artist, writer, and teacher based in Chicago, IL. Since 2008, she has worked at the Museum of Contemporary Photography, where she is an assistant curator. Grants holds an MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago and a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Media Studies. She currently teaches as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Photography and Art & Design departments at Columbia College Chicago.

Selection Criteria

Award recipients will be selected by the juror on the basis of exceptional, distinctive talent as evidenced by the strength of their submitted portfolios. The juror is especially interested in seeing portfolios with a strong narrative thrust and highly individual, original points of view.

Jurying

There are two (2) rounds of evaluation. Winners will be notified via phone immediately following the decision of the juror. Non-selected photographers will be notified by email shortly thereafter. Decision of the juror are final and binding.

What to Enter
The submission you are entering is comprised of three individual items:

A one-page Artist’s Statement in PDF format
Your biography or CV in PDF format
Your work sample
You may submit up to ten (10) images from a cohesive, exhibition-ready body of work created within the past three years. Or, if from an ongoing project, the portfolio must include images created within the past three years.

Submitted work may not have been previously exhibited at Silver Eye or in the Greater Pittsburgh region.

For the best image quality, image files must be no larger than 1,500 pixels wide, and saved as a .JPG size 8.

Submission for Fellowship 15 and membership to Silver Eye at the $50 Individual level–the best value with a savings of $5. (This applies to those wishing to become a new member or renew their membership)
