CALL FOR MURALISTS!

One Columbia for Arts and Culture and Commonwealth Properties are seeking professional mural artists and artist teams for the 2222 Main Street Mural Project in Columbia, SC’s Cottontown neighborhood.

One to three artists will be selected, with each artist receiving $20,000 (1) to $6,700 (3) to design and paint their assigned section of the approximately 985-square-foot mural.

Artists are required to paint a portion of the mural during the Cottontown Art Crawl on March 6, 2027.

Application deadline: October 23, 2026

Professional artists and artist teams with mural or large-scale public art experience who live in the United States are eligible to apply.

No concept proposal is required for the initial application.
