WVU Libraries’ Art in the Libraries invites artists to apply for the West Virginia Collection Artist in Residency (FAIR) program, a unique opportunity to engage with the West Virginia & Regional History Center’s (WVRHC) West Virginia Feminist Activist Collection (FAC). This pilot residency supports creative projects that explore, engage with, and expand upon the FAC materials.
Artists working in visual arts, performance, writing, curatorial practice, and more are encouraged to apply..
Applications will receive strong consideration if they highlight underrepresented voices or untold stories. The residency will take place March 24-28, 2025, and includes a minimum of two days spent researching in the archives, culminating in a public presentation of the artist’s project. Funds for materials are provided, with honorariums awarded after the residency.
Applications open November 1, and will close November 30, 2024. Selected applicants will be notified by December 30.
