The Huntington Beach Art Center announces an open call for submissions to By Degrees, a juried exhibition of original artworks addressing critical environmental themes. As global warming becomes increasingly evident in our daily lives, artists around the world and in our communities are reflecting, creating and examining the climate crisis in response. By Degrees brings awareness to the severity and scale of our changing ecology as seen through the artist’s eye.
Curators Luciana Abait and Lawrence Gipe will view the parameters of the “environmental” theme in the jurying process with a wide lens. Original art produced with conventional and non-conventional materials such as repurposed “non-art” resources and eco-activist documentation are eligible for submission and considered equally for exhibition.
