The most prominent narratives about immigration are often on the macro scale, focusing on the economic or social impact on communities. Opportunities to listen and reflect on the internal dualities or multiplicities that migration creates are important, and the effects and pressures of assimilation on immigrant groups are not always explored from the perspective of the migrant. (Inter)National seeks work that examines individual or communal identity after people leave one home for another. The show seeks to uncover what is left behind, constructed, and/or gained as a result of migration.

Immigration is foundational to the American story, and (Inter)National seeks to explore the experience from many angles – from immigrants themselves and those engaged in the conversation surrounding the immigrant experience.

Work must be submitted digitally via Formstack. Please see website link for full details.
