Chema Gil is a Digital Photographer. Born in Sahagún City, a small town from Hidalgo. He started his career as a law student, nevertheless he realized his passion was photography. Chema completed his Bachelors degree on Audiovisual Communication at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, later he specialized on Fotograia Infografica in Perugia, Italy. At the same time, he was completing his certificate on screenwriting in Milan. He worked in Norway, at Migrapolis TV, where he started his first photographs applying his innovative technique. Chema's first exhibition was at a cafe in downtown Oslo, where his closest friends assisted to see "Los Nadie." After that, many art galleries around Europe opened their doors to his art work. When he moved back to México, with the help of the Historic Archive Director, he exhibit "Los Nadie" for the first time in México in the city of Culiacán, Sinaloa; and 13 different cities all over México after that. Of the many projects Chema worked on after "Los Nadie," one of his main achievements was the "Loteria Bicentenaria." Using his technique, Chema combines historic facts, the heroes, and the main symbols that represent Mexican culture. His technique is the alteration of the photo, which causes a distinctive unreality, perhaps compared to magic realism that characterizes some Latin American literary works.
