The Last Day
Pioneer Works
Nov. 7, 2024 - Dec. 12, 2014
On November 7th, artist Bosco Sodi will debut his largest site-specific work to date, The Last Day, at Pioneer Works Center for Art and Innovation in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Measuring an impressive 57-feet in length, the monumental silver polyptych, created with Sodi’s signature mix of pigments and organic materials, questions the rapid deterioration of our planet and the impermanence of life, bringing to mind one of the essential Buddhist doctrines: all of conditioned existence, without exception, is transient, or in a constant state of flux. In addition to The Last Day, a group of large glazed volcanic rocks will also be on view.
Pioneer Works will host opening receptions for the artist on Friday, November 7th from 6 – 9 PM and Sunday, November 9th from 12 – 7 PM. For additional information, please visit www.pioneerworks.org.
