Solo exhibition by Chitra Ganesh, 2015-16 Estelle Lebowitz Endowed Visiting Artist in Residence, in the Mary H. Dana Women Artists Series Galleries at Douglass Library. Ganesh is a Brooklyn based artist whose drawing, mixed media, and text based works draw imagery from a broad range of references spanning from Hindu, Greek, and Buddhist mythology, to 19th century European portraiture and fairytales to contemporary cultural references such as Bollywood, Anime, and comic books. She is the recipient of a number of residences and her works have been exhibited internationally as well as across the US.
To accompany the exhibition, there will be a reception to honor the artist on November 3 at 5pm, and public lecture by the artist at 5:30.
