Paul Zelanski’s small scale collages are both poetic and dynamic. They share an intimate view of a world that tells a story of continual change. His study of color over a span of 60 years has “prompted an involvement with the color of shadows, to which the three-dimensional format of these new collages lends itself in an exciting way.” There is an interactive playfulness that takes place between the viewer and the pieces in an unexpected and revealing way, especially as the day’s light patterns shift. Zelanski’s collages are truly the culmination of a lifelong love of color, design, artistic exploration…and sheer amusement.
