From September 1 through December 31, 2019 Art Spaces in Fairfield County Libraries is promoting “Art & Text,” a united exhibition featuring the work of local and regional artists. New Canaan Library’s participation in Art & Text features a dual show by artists Jane Davila and Karen Kalkstein.Though markedly distinct from each other in subject matter and style, both Davila and Kalkstein’s arresting artwork unifies under the initiative’s theme of incorporating text within the art, as well as by both artists’ choice of working in mixed, highly tactile media.
