Celebrations Gallery & Shoppes invites you to “The Art of Tea,” an exhibition of original artwork in all media celebrating the art of taking tea. The exhibition will run from June 9 – August 5, 2012. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 9, from 4 to 7 pm. Enjoy meeting the artists and complimentary tea, beverages, and treats. Inspired by Celebrations’ recently opened tea room, this exhibition challenged artists to create a work appreciating the art, accouterments, history, ceremony or tradition of tea. Join us to see what they brewed up!

Plan to spend a few hours with Celebrations the day of the reception. Earlier that day Celebrations will participate in CT Open House Day on June 9th, from 11:30am to 3:30pm, rain or shine. This state sponsored event promotes art & culture throughout Connecticut. Before the official opening of “The Art of Tea Exhibition” at 4 pm, visitors can enjoy watching art demonstrations, such as painting en plein aire and jewelry making techniques. Artists providing demos will also have additional works for sale that day.
