Bethlehem Christmas Town Festival
Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden
Oct. 24, 2012, 11:00 am
On Friday, December 7th, from 5 pm to 9 pm, and Saturday, December 8th, from 10 am to 4 pm, Connecticut Landmarks’ Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden will participate in the Bethlehem Christmas Town Festival. There may be a partridge in a pear tree at Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden and museum shop, as the house will be festively decorated with birds everywhere. Caroline Ferriday “loved and cared for birds and beasts and even Homo sapiens.” Kids of all ages can enjoy the Can You Find scavenger hunt, enjoy hot cider, and peruse & purchase Al Erickson’s photographs of birds. Admission is free with a suggested $3 donation and/or a donation to the Bethlehem Food Bank.
Al Erickson, a Bethlehem resident, began photographing birds while recovering from a heart attack several years ago. On local walks he grew interested in the birds he encountered and over time both his interest in birds and the size of his camera have grown. Erickson continues to seek new birding and photography opportunities, both locally and afar. He exhibits his works, and sells them, in support of the Bellamy-Ferriday House and Gardens, as well as other local charitable and worthy organizations.
