Visual Notes from the Underground: A juried exhibition of art inspired by lowbrow, street, underground, surf and skate, graffitti, car art and other non-traditional art
Exhibition Dates: Saturday Nov. 9 – Friday, Dec. 13
in the Arts Council Gallery, Finelines Building, 21 W. Lincoln Ave. Atlantic Highlands.
Jury: Sarah Potter of the Parlor Gallery in Asbury Park, and
Tony Rodriquez of Tattoo Tony’s Under My Skin in Atlantic Highlands.
Opening Reception: Friday, Nov. 8, 6:00 – 8:30 pm.
The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council is accepting entries for a juried exhibition of lowbrow art, art inspired by street, underground, surf and skate, graffiti, car art and other non-traditional work. The exhibition will run from Saturday, Nov. 9 through Friday, Dec. 13.at the Arts Council Gallery, 21 W. Lincoln Ave. in the Finelines Building in Atlantic Highlands. There will be an opening reception on Friday, Nov. 8 from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm.
Artwork will be selected by Sarah Potter of the Parlor Gallery in Asbury Park and Tony Rodriquez of Tattoo Tony’s “Under My Skin” in Atlantic Highlands. “Best in Show” and “Honorable Mention”awards will be made.
Artists included in the exhibition will also be invited to sell their own original artwork, crafts, and prints at the Fine Arts and Crafts Fair in the Arts Council Gallery on three Saturdays: Nov. 16, 23 and 30. There is no fee for exhibiting artists to participate in the Arts and Fine Crafts Show. A 10% commission on sold work will be collected.
