TREE: The Exhibit
A Forest of Art
Name of Venue or Event: “TREE: The Exhibit” at A/NT Gallery (“A Non-Traditional Gallery,” formerly “Art/Not Terminal Gallery”). The theme of this exhibit will be trees, in the most literal sense of the word. Prizes will be issued for the best work ($100 for First Place, $60 for Second, $40 for Third).
Work Media: All media accepted.
Work Size: All sizes accepted, as long as the work would fit reasonably within the gallery. (A/NT Gallery is a large space.)
Bring all works to A/NT Gallery during the drop off time (March 30th or 31th, 2014, between 11AM and 8PM). All works will be charged a $25.00 hanging fee. Oversized work (over 4′ wide) will be charged $5.00 per linear foot, or portion thereof, exceeding the 4′ limit. The fee will be collected at the time of delivery.
Timeline of Exhibit: April 2 – 27, 2014
Entries Due: March 30-31, 2014
Judging: Our judges for the prize money are TBD. They will judge based on the quality of the work, including creativity, technical execution, composition, and how well the work represents the theme of “TREE.”
Selection Process: All works accepted as long as they are representative of an actual tree, the kind that grows in the ground, with branches and leaves. In other words, a wooded plant. Any kind of tree is acceptable, as long as it represents something a botanist would study. Other subject matter can be in the work, too, but at least one tree (or a very treelike shrub) must be prominent in the piece.
Works may be turned away at the discretion of the gallery if they do not meet our requirements, or if there is be a concern about displaying the work, such as lack of a hanging wire, hazardous materials, or illegal subject matter. Please email [email protected] if there are questions about whether or not your specific work would be accepted.
Delivery: Artwork should be delivered in person to A/NT Gallery on March 30 (between 1pm and 6pm) or March 31 (between 11am and 8pm). If an artist is unable to deliver on those dates, or they need to ship the art, please make arrangements with the gallery to arrange delivery.
2D framed media must have hanging wire. A/NT Gallery will provide pedestals for 3D artwork, if required. We are unable to provide shielded cases, projectors, televisions, stereos, or other devices for multimedia artwork. The gallery is also unable to setup and tear down installation works. If such works are accepted, we will inform the artist what additional requirements will be needed to setup their work in the gallery.
Shipping: If an artist needs to ship the artwork to the gallery, all shipping costs and packaging will be the artist’s responsibility. We require that shipped art is framed with plexiglass, if glass is needed. The artist will also be responsible for return shipping costs. Though the gallery will take great care in handling all artwork, the gallery will not be responsible for damage done to the artwork during shipping, packing, and unpacking. Please send in reusable packaging.
Reception: The opening reception will be at the gallery on April 5, 2014, between 6PM and 9PM.
Exhibit or Event Ends: April 27, 2014

Participating artists will also be encouraged to invite friends and followers. The gallery will be providing wine, refreshments, and entertainment for this event.
