Call-For-Entries: The Deep End
Whitdel Arts is currently accepting submissions for The Deep End, a exhibition centering on the physical, emotional and financial effects of mental Illness, mental disorder and mental disease on individuals and society. The effects of mental health encompasses people from all walks of life, regardless of their cultural, social or economical background. The cultural biases, stigmas and stereotypes associated with these topics can impact one’s human rights and dignity. Many times, our understanding and comprehension of mental health is skewed, resulting in misdiagnosis and politically incorrect mockery. These topics have also been associated with recent tragic events and opinions about the pharmaceutical industry.

Whitdel Arts seeks work that illustrates or reflects upon these topics for The Deep End, to be held in May and June of 2014. All media is welcome. This exhibition was chosen by the members of Whitdel Arts, and will be held at Whitdel Arts in May 2014.

Exhibition dates: May 9 – June 21 2014 Reception: Friday, May 9, 7-10 pm

Criteria: All media accepted. Work must have been created within the last 2 years.
