“Shades of Green 2018”
Our curators for this new exhibit are looking for art that focuses on color, that is, a subject enhanced, here, by the use of the color green, in particular. The extent of this application to the composition is not a consideration in the judging of each piece. How the color green engages the viewer to enter the artist’s narrative defines these evaluations—nothing more. We look forward to receiving potential entries which capture a mood, relay a message, or inspire a viewer to interpret the artist’s work through their intuitive and perhaps methodical utilization of various green shades. All works, which can be expressed in terms of representational, expressionistic, surrealistic, or abstraction genres, are encouraged for submission.

This competition helps support the free drawing and painting lessons website “DrawingAndPaintingLessons.com.” No advertising is associated with this site.

Theme and Selection
“Shades of Green 2018” – The curators are looking for work based on art of any subject that is enhanced through various shades of green. The extent of the green color applied to the composition is not a factor of consideration in the judging of each piece. It is rather how effectively this color engages the viewer to enter the artist’s narrative. Colors communicate a broad spectrum of emotions and expressions as well as a diverse range of sensual symbolisms. All submissions for entry can be expressed from realism to abstraction.

All submissions for consideration may be expressed in any of the following aspects: representational, expressionism, surrealism, or abstraction.
