Atlanta Photography Group (APG) is now accepting entries of photographic based images or projects that play on the concept of Reverie, defined as a state of being lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream or a chain of thoughts. Each of us has our own history and culture that has been the substance fueling personal myths and meditations. Where does your mind go when it’s not preoccupied? What are your personal musings or conceits on recent history or possible futures? For some a romantic and nostalgic perspective, while others are shadowed and tormented by stormier chronicles, all providing a point to be lost in one’s thoughts.
$2000 High Museum Purchase Award

Juror Tim Wride will be selecting 2-6 pieces each from 10-20 artists to feature in this exhibition. All the artists selected for the exhibition will be eligible for the APG / High Museum Purchase Award of up to $2000. The High Museum Curator of Photography reviews the exhibition and may select works from one artist for the Museum’s permanent collection. APG purchases the work and donates the pieces to The High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
Juror: Tim Wride

Tim B. Wride is the William and Sarah Ross Soter Curator of Photography at the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Florida. Prior to joining the Norton Museum, Tim was a Curator in the Department of Photographs at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) for 14 years, Wride curated over 50 exhibitions, authored and contributed to a dozen books, and has lectured, participated in panels, juried exhibitions, and provided portfolio reviews internationally. In 2004, Wride became the founding Executive Director of the No Strings Foundation, a Los Angeles-based non-profit that provides individual artist grants to U.S. photographers. Wride is a voracious consumer of photographic images; He likes nothing better than to look at photographs and talk to photographers about their work.
