EXHIBITION DATES : July 5–22, 2011
JUROR : Jane Goldman, visual artist
MEDIA : Oil, watercolor, acrylic, tempera, gouache or pastel.
ELIGIBILITY : Open to all living artists nationwide.
AWARDS : $5000 in cash prizes to be awarded at the
discretion of the juror.
ENTRY FEE : $20, please make checks payable to the
Providence Art Club
WORK : Entries must be recent, non-production work that
is available for sale (no price on requests). Two-dimensional
work must be wired and ready to install. Work may not
exceed 150 lbs. The Providence Art Club reserves the right
to reject work that is deemed unstable, that differs from the
submitted digital image, or that is not professionally
presented.
DIGITAL ENTRIES : Artists may submit three digital entries
in a JPEG format on CD-ROM. This may include details,
but no more than a total of three images should be on the
submitted CD. If more than one image is submitted, they
MUST all be on one CD. Image files on the CD must be
labeled with the artist’s last name followed by 01, 02, 03.
All CDs/images must be readable by Macintosh platforms.
No image should be larger than 300 dpi. Images should be
oriented correctly. DO NOT submit PowerPoint presentations,
automated slide presentations or work on DVD. All CDs
must be labeled with the artist’s full name.
NOTIFICATION: For entry status visit the “Call for
Entries” section of the website, www.providenceartclub.org
after 12 noon on June 10, 2011. Accepted artists will
also be notified by mail. Accepted digital entries will
remain in the possession of the Providence Art Club for
promotional purposes.
DELIVERY : Accepted submissions should be delivered
to the Providence Art Club, 11 Thomas Street, Providence,
RI 02903 from June 20–24, between 12-4pm in the Dodge
House Gallery.
SHIPPING: Shipping costs are the responsibility of
the artist. A check for return shipping, including
insurance (please ask carrier to determine this amount)
must accompany work. A packing fee will be charged if
work cannot be repacked in its original materials.
REMOVAL : All exhibited work is to be picked up
August 8–12, 2011, between 12-3pm from the Dodge
House Gallery.
INSURANCE : The Providence Art Club carries a blanket
policy covering fire, theft, and breakage. The insurance
value is considered 2/3 of the sale price but no more
than $250.
PHOTOGRAPHY / PUBLICITY : The Providence Art Club
reserves the right to photograph work for publicity. By
entering your work in Open Painting, you agree to the use
of your name, likeness, and certain personal information
in any publicity material developed for the exhibition.
SALES COMMISSION: 25% for PAC members; 40% for
non-members.
