NELSONVILLE, OHIO, February 15, 2014 – Majestic Galleries is proud to announce this year’s juror is Dr. Louis Zona, Director of The Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown State University. Dr. Zona has received a number of national honors including the Gari Melchers Medal in 1996 for his outstanding contribution to American Art and culture. He is the author of numerous articles on art and art history and he is a major contributor to the recent Abrams publication Master Paintings from The Butler Institute of American Art. The competition is open to all artists age 18 and older living and working in the United States or Canada. Submit original work produced in the last 2 years. All media and processes accepted, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, ceramics, textiles, new media, electronic and interactive, installation, and video. Cash prizes for first, second and third places in the amounts of $400, $200 and $100, plus several honorable mention awards. Additionally, cash award winners are offered an exhibition to show their work at Majestic Galleries in 2015. Entry deadline is May 14th.
