We are pleased to announce that the Loft Artists Association (LAA) is accepting applications for new Associate Members this fall.
Established in 1978 as a volunteer tenant art association, and incorporated as a non-profit in 1986, the LAA has grown into one of the area’s premier visual arts organizations for Studio and Associate members. Our mission is to provide artists with a supportive environment, exhibition and networking opportunities, and to reach out to the community at large with education and artistic expression. The LAA has produced annual Open Studios events, arranged studio tours with schools, produced performance and lecture series, as well as workshops for the public; and has exhibited in venues throughout and beyond Stamford, CT.
Associate membership in the LAA will be accepted via juried selection. Applicant must submit a completed application form, along with a current resume and four jpeg images and a $25 application fee. Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis. Finalists will be asked to bring up to three pieces of their work to the LAA for final jurying. Details of this process will be provided after jpg review. Finalists will be notified in a timely manner.
All LAA events are produced by the collective efforts of all its members. Studio and Associate Members participate by offering ideas and time toward member events and community outreach programs. There are monthly membership meetings and all members serve on a working committee of their interest. Annual dues are currently $150. All members are assessed an additional $30 per month to support the Loft Artists Gallery.
The unique benefits of Associate membership in the LAA are as follows:

• Publicity for LAA show as well as other shows
• Advertising opportunities for personal shows in the community
• Opportunities to show in the first class Loft Artist galleries
• Access to the LAA mailing list for promotional opportunities

We will contact you by phone or email if you have been selected for final jurying. Further instructions will be provided to finalists, including a specific time and date for drop off and pick up of submitted work. Finalist’s work must be delivered in person.
We will conduct a short interview with each finalist.
