Synopsis: Art Room seeks emerging artists for its upcoming exhibition, Interchanging Lines, Constructing Home. The current social climate has forced many people to live in divided homes where their sexual orientation and gender identities are at conflict within their family structures, thus creating challenges, uncertainty, and discomfort. This call for entry invites artists working in any media to submit works that challenge the idea of the nuclear home, explore their separation from family created by political discourse, and present their new (re)construction or vision of home. The exhibition will be juried by the UNT Graduate Professional Practice class, who will curate the works to be shown at Art Room.

Juror Info: Interchanging Lines, Constructing Home will be juried by MFA students in the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas currently enrolled in the Graduate Professional Practice. Jurors come from many different backgrounds and work in a wide range of media. Located in Denton, TX, UNT offers a cross-disciplinary Master of Fine Art Program with nationally exhibiting artists.
