Portrait Competition | Identity
Welcome artists! We are releasing this new call to focus on portraits and identity. What does this mean? Well here are some of the ideas we have been toiling with:

Portraiture is an ancient art and has been used to represent status, wealth, importance and clout. We want you to explore the portrait and make it more. Who is this person we are looking at? What are they like? What do they do? Help us to imagine what it would be like to have a conversation with this person. Give context clues in the details, background, clothing or use of mediums. Be expressive and show us your style and interpretation of the human image. We will be looking for portraits that focus on the identity of the individual.

Here are some things to keep in mind when selecting your entries:
We are looking for entries that speak emotionally and visually to us. We want to see the evidence of your creative decisions and style. Portraits do not need to be literal; as we will be accepting abstract, surreal and also representational art pieces. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us.
