JUROR: Joe Concra, Artist, Director, O+ Festival
SUBMISSION FEE: Free for WAAM members, $35 for non-members. Open to artists within a 50 mile radius of Woodstock.
SUBMIT ONLINE: May 24-June 23, 2019, midnight.
NOTIFICATION: via email, July 9, 2019
All media welcome, no size restriction
INTAKE of ARTWORK: Monday, August 5, 12-6 pm
PICK UP of ARTWORK: Monday, September 3, 12-6 pm
APPLICATION MATERIALS
Images (.jpg) and Descriptions for up to 5 artworks
Brief Artists Statement (300 – 500 words)
Artwork must be in good condition and ready for exhibition
Video artists may submit one text document with up to 3 links to files to be reviewed. Please provide title, date, running time and retail price for each video.
Retail price should include WAAM’s 40% sales commission.
Special installation requirements, such as video equipment, must be supplied by artist for the duration of the show. WAAM reserves the right to reject works that do not comply with these guidelines or are otherwise found to be unsuitable for display.
FOCUS at WAAM
Introduced in 2017, WAAM’s FOCUS exhibitions feature the work of ten artists in a theme-based exhibition. A different independent juror makes the selections of artists and specific works for each show. Each artist selected is represented by multiple examples of their work relating to the show’s theme.
ILLUMINATION
Some may interpret this as spiritual radiance as emanating from the life force of the self, plants or creatures. For others, the term may inspire the dramatic effects of sunset upon the landscape or the impact of a brilliant high-keyed palette or the results of the photographic manipulation of light and shadow. Whatever the word conjures in your mind, we welcome your submissions for the next FOCUS exhibition.
