The Gallery at the Wauregan is excited to welcome back artist Laura Levine for her 3rd annual exhibition.
These vibrant paintings reveal her fascination with the colors of the Connecticut shoreline. In her plein air pieces she thrives on observing the ever changing landscape, capturing in paint the essence of the scene. Her work is bold, inspired and deliberate. With a renewed interest in the figure, she also has on exhibit a recent large scale portrait. Rounding out the realist spectrum she chose to exhibit several of her color saturated andtactile still life paintings.
Moore Meadow has been a terrific source of inspiration for the artist. This small flowering meadow changes frequently and dramatically throughout the season, bursting with daffodils, to poppies and much more. On exhibit are several of these paintings created within the past few years. Together they are a testament to the ever changing beauty in nature.
This cohesive body of work celebrates the artist’s world, where the viewer can appreciate her dedication to observation and expressive realism.
The exhibition will run from July 5th – July 26th
There will be an opening reception on July 5th from 6-9 pm
