DiverseCity Juried Art Exhibit

Norwalk is an urban/suburban city made up of unique neighborhoods, businesses, people, and cultures. The Norwalk Historical Society is inviting artists to submit photographs, paintings, drawings, models, collages, shadow boxes, etc. representing “DiverseCity” in Norwalk for this juried art exhibition.
Exhibit runs May 22 – June 29, 2014. Opening and awards on May 22.
Artwork Eligibility:
All works must be original (no reproductions or giclee) and never before exhibited at the Norwalk Historical Society. May be any medium. Two-dimensional entries may not exceed 48″ wide and 84″ high including frame.
Awards:
1st place – $150, 2nd place – $75 + 19th century Norwalk map reproduction, 3rd – place – $25 Norwalk Historical Society gift certificate. All winners will receive a one year individual membership.
Jurors:
•Frank Bruckmann – A well know Connecticut painter and Instructor, Rowayton Arts Center.
•Sherelle Harris – Assistant Director, Norwalk Public Library System and Norwalk Board of Education member.
•Lizzy Rockwell – An acclaimed artist, author-illustrator, and Artistic Director, Peace by Piece: The Norwalk Community Quilt Project.
Sales:
All artwork should be for sale. The artist will receive a 70% commission for all art work sold. The remainder will support the Norwalk Historical Society educational programs.
