The Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) presents Colorful Colorado, an exhibition celebrating the lands of the Centennial state. Named for the red-colored river flowing through it, Colorado’s landscapes cross all planes: from tall mountains to high plains, rolling foothills to dusty deserts, dense forests of pines and aspens to sparse grasslands, golden sand dunes to winding rivers. Colorful Colorado is open to all works of art created from the land. This includes traditional works, such as plein air paintings, as well as alternative media and works created with materials from the land.

Dennis Rhoades, a Colorado-based landscape painter, will jury the exhibition. Rhoades graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute as a Fine Arts Major and works in the plein air tradition in pastels. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions throughout the West and Southwest and belongs in 18 collections. The June 2013 issue of Southwest Art Magazine featured Rhoades as the ‘Artist to Watch’.

There is no limitation on size; however, all artwork must be for sale. The CAE will retain a 40% commission on any artwork sold during the exhibition. Chosen work must be ready to display or hang with appropriate hardware or display materials.
