Often romantically described by writers, historians, and artists alike, landscapes are typically comprised of visible features of land, including natural features like mountains, hills, rivers, lakes, oceans, and plantlife. Manmade elements like architecture and other non-natural forms may be depicted as well. Combining both their physical origins and the cultural overlay of human presence, landscapes reflect the living synthesis of people and place vital to local and national identity. Landscapes help define the self-image of a certain region- its sense of place that differentiates it from other regions. It is the dynamic backdrop to people’s everyday lives.

Artists are encouraged to submit work to this open call for landscapes in a variety of media and visual styles, from photo realism to abstract expressionism.
