Artist Residence Program
Gallery 263
Entry Deadline: Jul. 1
Gallery 263 is currently accepting applications for the Summer 2013 Artist Residence Program.
Since 2010, twice a year Gallery 263 opens its 700 square-foot gallery space as an incubator for the creative production of 3-5 emerging artists. Participating artists benefit by having full access* to a versatile workspace with high ceilings, natural light, and community visibility. (*Gallery 263 continues to run the yoga program during the residency and hosts the occassional event. This keeps costs low for residents and is restricted to 7 hours max per week)
Gallery 263’s Artist Residence Program is ideal for those whose creative practice embraces collaborative projects, community engagement, or are open to sharing space with other artists. Our first-floor storefront space allows for the artistic process to be on view for the neighborhood, investing the gallery’s local audience with a stake in the process, not just the product, of art making.
This is a work only residence, and preference will be given to emerging artist living in the Metro-Boston area. Artists coming from outside the region must secure local housing on their own (affordable local accommodations can be found here*).
