Art and Democracy V
Building Bridges Art Foundation
Entry Deadline: Mar. 20
Art & Democracy V is returning to the greater Los Angeles Area (May 20th to June 28th 2014 at the Building Bridges Art Foundation gallery in Bergamot Station, Santa Monica), after a successful 3 months run in New York City in 2009.
Why:
Art & Democracy V hopes to keep alive the dialogue of “Freedom” and to highlight the 25th Anniversary of the Tienanmen Square Massacre and the fall of the Berlin Wall. With this exhibit, Visual Artists Guild hopes to create a space for the world to celebrate human rights, freedom of expression and civil liberties. Special events include live entertainment, panel discussions, artist meet-and-greets and public participation on a communal art project.
How:
Interested artists are invited to submit artwork centered on the topics of human rights, social justice, immigrant rights, civil liberties and freedom of expression, by e-mailing artwork previews to: [email protected]
