THE CALL
An Artistic Heritage features artwork by Northwest artists alongside artwork created by their children/relative. This group exhibition explores the influence of visual expression in family upbringing and legacies of creativity.

This exhibition will take place in conjunction with the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts, at the Lakewood Center for the Arts inside a converted dance studio on the top floor. Artworks will be displayed on white covered pegboard walls arranged throughout the space. The gallery will be open and monitored for the duration of the festival.

ELIGIBILITY
Works Eligible: The same rules apply to artists of all ages.
Two-dimensional work in any medium is eligible as long as it’s smaller than 48 inches (height) x 36 inches (width) and can be displayed on the wall, and must include horizontal picture hanging hardware installed on the back of the artwork.

Three-dimensional pieces are eligible as long as they are smaller than 5 feet (height) x 36 inches (width) x 36 inches (depth) Oddly composed 3D art, the artist must provide the appropriate sculpture stand for their presentation.

Wall-hung artwork must be display ready, either framed or mounted and must include horizontal picture hanging hardware installed on the back of the artwork (no zigzag sawtooth hardware). All artists artwork must be display ready, either framed or mounted and must include horizontal picture hanging hardware installed on the back of the artwork (no zigzag sawtooth hardware). All artwork must have been created exclusively by the artist, intentionally and of their own free will. All living artists must consent to submit for consideration and exhibition of their artwork.

*Please note: curators will not construct any hanging devices. Work must be delivered ready to hang on a wall or stand up on a pedestal.

ENTRIES
A maximum of 6 works may be submitted per artist. Entries must be received no later than the date listed on the Calendar below. An Artistic Heritage Juried Exhibit reserves the right to decline any accepted artwork upon delivery if the condition or quality is other than represented in the electronic entry.

JURY PROCESS
This call for art will be reviewed and curators by Art in Oregon (AiO); co-founders and artists, Owen Premore and Tammy Jo Wilson. AiO fully embraces the philosophy and goals of the Festival of the Arts. Artists will be selected based on adherence to the stated theme, originality, personal voice, and technical skill. Artworks will be juried based only by the artwork submitted by the parents, not the children. The artwork made by the artist’s children will not be considered during the jury process. It will be up to the parents to select their child’s best artwork to display alongside their own.

SALES
All artwork submitted must be for sale; parents and kids. The price shall be at the discretion of the artist. A 40% commission from all sales will be retained by the Festival. Prices assigned by the artist must include the Festival commission. All artwork commission proceeds benefit the Lakewood Center for the Arts, a nonprofit organization.

Artists must complete an online application with an accurate email that will be valid throughout the process and through the show dates. This email address will be used to notify you of your status. Notification of accepted or declined status will be emailed to the email address you use in the application process. Please check your application email inbox for all correspondence.

Your application must include:
Detailed information about each submitted artwork, including medium and dimensions.

DELIVERY OF ARTWORK
Unless alternative arrangements have been confirmed with the curator, Artists must deliver their work personally to the Lakewood Center, 368 S State Street, Lake Oswego, OR, 97034 on:
June 12, Wednesday 4-6pm & June 13, Thursday, 11am-1pm, 2019

Should the work not be sold, artists are responsible for picking up their artworks. Details for delivery and pick up will be included with the contract following your acceptance to the exhibit. Artwork pickup times are as follow:

The Festival, an event created by Lakewood Center for the Arts, is a major regional arts event located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Lake Oswego is located 9 miles south of Portland, Oregon. The Festival presents the creative endeavors of recognized and emerging artists and enjoys an outstanding reputation for bringing special exhibits of quality and diversity to a weekend that is accessible to everyone. Attracting some 25,000 visitors during the three-day event, the Festival includes 6 art exhibits, food booths, music, and fine art crafts. The Festival is held in the Lakewood Center for the Arts in Lake Oswego and George Rogers Park. It features multiple art exhibits, music, dance and demonstrations.
