The Open Arts & Music Festival is a FREE and all-ages event in the heart of Downtown Glendale that is accepting applications for two artist opportunities.

The Glendale Arts and Culture Commission in partnership with Glendale Arts is seeking artists who demonstrate experience in the design and production of public art to submit a Proposal for Temporary Public Art to be displayed for one day at the Open Arts & Music Festival (OAM) on Saturday, September 14, 2019 in Glendale, CA. Artist will receive a stipend of $5,000 which will include artist fee, materials, transportation, installation and breakdown of the temporary public artwork to be displayed at the OAM. There is a possibility of a week-long, temporary display of this same piece during September 15-21, 2019 in conjunction with Glendale Tech Week.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 14th at 11:59PM. There is no entry fee.

The Open Arts & Music Festival is also accepting applications from artists who would like to participate as a vendor at the festival’s arts market. We are seeking inspiring artists to participate in the Open Arts & Music Festival Arts Market from 3pm-10pm on Saturday, September 14, 2019. In addition to showcasing various arts disciplines, Arts Market vendors are asked to offer a minimum of one (1) activity which serves to bring the community closer to the art/artist. Activities can include, but are not limited to:
• An all-ages workshop
• Participatory art project
• A demonstration
Preference will be given to projects and practices which:
• Elevate a participant’s experience of the event
• Demonstrate a creative approach to on-site engagements
• Emphasize ethical production processes
• Experiment with new ways of making
• Open up conversations surrounding the arts
• Are fairly priced for all income brackets

o Includes electricity (up to 5amps), basic lighting, canopy tent, 1 table, 2 chairs.
10’x20′ Booth: $200
