Juror Danielle Knapp: Danielle M. Knapp is the McCosh Curator at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art of the University of Oregon in Eugene. In addition to managing the David John and Anne Kutka McCosh Memorial Collection and Archive, she oversees the museum’s initiatives in North American (with focus on Pacific Northwest) and European Art, including exhibitions, publications and acquisitions. Knapp holds degrees in Art History and Museum Studies from the University of Oregon and Eastern Washington University. She has organized exhibitions of the work of Keith Achepohl, Mark Clarke, Margaret Coe, Morris Graves, Clay Lohmann, David McCosh and Lucinda Parker, among others. Rick Bartow: Things You Know But Cannot Explain, a retrospective exhibition co-curated with JSMA executive director Jill Hartz in 2015, will travel to ten venues through 2020; its exhibition catalog is currently available in its third printing through Heyday Press. Most recently, Knapp collaborated with the George D. Green Art Institute to present works by 45 artists in the group exhibition Visual Magic: An Oregon Invitational. She is currently serving a four-year term as Public Art Chair of the Springfield Arts Commission. Knapp grew up as an “Air Force Brat” but found her home in the Pacific Northwest in 1999.

Cash Awards: $1,000 1st Place, $500 2nd Place, $300 3rd Place, $200 J. Lynn Peterson-Hundred Valleys Award.

Eligible to all artists working in the Pacific Northwest to submit up to (5) entries in all themes and genres. All work must be display-ready upon arrival. UVAA commission rates are 30% for UVAA members and 40% for non UVAA members. Entries must be original works of art and entirely created by the entrant. No work will be accepted into this show which is in violation of any copyright. Artwork must have been completed within the last two years. Work must not have been previously exhibited at UVAA.

Art Delivery to UVAA: Monday, May 13, 2019
Opening Reception: Friday, May 17- 5 pm to 7 pm
Exhibit ends: Sunday, June 30, 2019
Artwork Pick Up/shipped: July 8 & 9, 2019 from 9 am to 4 pm

The exhibit opens with a public reception on the evening of Friday, May 17, from 5 pm to 7 pm at UVAA. All accepted enteries will be on display during the annual Summer Arts Festival. The exhibit will end on June 30, 2019.

The UVAA’s hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 AM-4 PM and Saturdays, 10 AM-2 PM. The UVAA is located at 1624 West Harvard Avenue Roseburg, Oregon.
