Eileen Mayhew is a landscape and figurative painter, who lives on shore of the Kickemuit River, specifically, the area called Bristol Narrows. Her award-winning work is held in public and private collections in the United States and as far abroad as India. She has exhibited extensively and is one of the founders and a former Board member of Imago Foundation for the Arts. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Lyme Academy School of Fine Art, Old Lyme, Connecticut and teaches oil painting privately. Familiar with the Rhode Island shoreline, her attention is currently focused on bringing attention to that which may go unnoticed, along the Rhode Island waterways. Climate change will ultimately alter the face of the Rhode Island coast. Her series of paintings will eventually reveal what has been lost, that these coastal communities are a treasure.
