55th Anniversary of Fine Art at Wickford Art Festival

The Wickford Art Association celebrates the 55th anniversary of the Wickford Art Festival on Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9, 2017. Meet 200-plus artists from across the country as they display their fine art amongst well-preserved colonial homes, eclectic shops and historic streets in Wickford Village. The Wickford Art Festival is one of the longest running outdoor fine art festivals in New England and ranked #17 best fine art festival in the country.

Wickford Art Festival hours are Saturday July 8th 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday July 9th 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is free and the festival is held rain or shine. Handicap accessible and family friendly, this fine art festival draws up to 40,000 art lovers from throughout New England over the weekend.

Artists will be traveling from across the country and Canada. Artist mediums include oil, acrylic, drawing, sculpture in metal, clay, wood and glass, pastel, mixed media, ink and photography in original, one of a kind or limited, signed and numbered editions. Fine art is sales tax exempt in Rhode Island.

Raffle tickets are available now for the Raffle of Fine Art, which is drawn on Sunday afternoon (July 9). Prizes include fine art donated by WAA member artists and festival artists. Proceeds of the raffle benefit the Wickford Art Association Scholarship Fund, which awards $5,000 in scholarships to three artistic RI public high school seniors attending a college. The Scholarship Fund winners will be exhibiting their art in the festival.

Parking with optional donation is available at Wilson Park, Wickford Elementary School and Wickford Middle School within walking distance or take a short free shuttle ride into the festival. Parking is free on limited streets just outside of the village.

Wickford Harbor marinas offer transient docking within a 5 minute walk of Wickford Village.
