Boston Sculptors Gallery is pleased to present two concurrent solo shows, “Loom Large” by artist Jodi Colella & “Unlikely Vessels” by artist Andrea Thompson

Loom Large, Jodi Colella’s inaugural exhibition at Boston Sculptors Gallery, features sculptures and drawings that query the social structures embodied in objects, and investigate the complex, often entangled qualities of power, emergence, and fear.

Thompson’s Voyage of the Seven Moons features a family of crescent-shaped boats, each four to nine feet in length, held aloft by rough-hewn wooden beams. The forms in steam-bent oak and translucent fiberglass take on an organic, animated quality on their lurching and mismatched legs. Invoking both the changing phases of the moon and a castaway’s improvised construction, the plucky vessels encourage viewers to join them on their unknown journey.
