Featuring 65 works of contemporary Japanese ceramic arts from 35 Japanese artists, From the Fire includes pieces by master ceramists designated as Living National Treasures in Japan, as well as by emerging artists. The diverse range of objects highlights the intersection of tradition and new creativity in the world of contemporary Japanese ceramic arts. From the Fire is on view in the North Building on level 5 through October 1, 2017.

Included in general museum admission; free for youth 18 and younger every day thanks to Free for Kids, and free for all visitors on museum free days, thanks in part to the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD).
