Be part of a community art project!

Wednesday evening, October 25, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.

Kenise Barnes Fine Art, 1947 Palmer Avenue, Larchmont, NY 10538

Christine Shannon Aaron conceived of The Memory Project and was awarded the Individual Artist Grant through ArtsWestchester to support her concept and forthcoming exhibition.

The project is driven by Aaron’s deep appreciation of the lively and diverse Larchmont – Mamaroneck community. She asserts that our life experiences and the memories we hold shape who we are and how we experience the world and though we are neighbors living and working side by side, we don’t always know one another. Given the rapid pace, busy schedule and demands of suburban life, it is not often that we have an opportunity to sit down and listen to one another, and be heard ourselves. This project aims to bring people together through a project of sharing memories.

Aaron invites all who live, work or have a relationship to the Larchmont-Mamaroneck community to share their memories. Your memories may be handwritten on beautiful specialty papers chosen and provided by the artist or documented as voice recordings. These anonymous memories will be woven into a multimedia art installation at the Mamaroneck Artists Guild from November 7 through November 12, 2017.

Please join us for an informal gathering on October 25 to write or record memories of your life and experiences. Spend ten minutes or the whole evening with neighbors and your memories, or stop by the gallery at any time to pick up supplies and document your memories at your leisure.

A resident of Larchmont for over 32 years, Christine Shannon Aaron continues her commitment to art on both the local and national level.
