What plants or animals inhabit your Earthly Paradise? Are they life forms native to where you live or exotic flora and fauna from far reaches of the planet? Would you bring back extinct species, import life forms from other galaxies, or create phantasmagorical plants and animals from your imagination? Where do humans fit into your paradise? We welcome artists whose concerns are ecology-based as well as those whose subject matter is traditionally flora, fauna or landscapes. You are invited to display your technical prowess in realism, abstraction or fantasy. We are seeking wide-ranging interpretations that will transform our gallery into a virtual Shangri-La.

JUROR: Suzanne Gray, Seager Gray Gallery in Mill Valley, CA
Suzanne Gray, a resident of Mill Valley, grew up in upstate New York and studied journalism and art history at Syracuse University and San Jose State. Her lifelong interest and background in art and art history landed her a position at Donna Seager Gallery where she became an integral part of the business and ultimately a valued partner. Gray’s skills extend themselves to professional art consultant services and she has overseen both commercial and residential art programs. Her knowledge of the art market, sophisticated eye and understanding of art placement have gained her the trust and respect of her clients. JUROR’S AWARD:
A Juror’s Award ribbon, certificate and $250 will be presented to each of the three works that express the most imaginative interpretation of the theme.

There are two opportunities to get into this show. The juror will select works that will be exhibited in the Arc Gallery at 1246 Folsom Street and works that will be included only on the Arc On-line Gallery.

CATALOG:
All artwork selected will be included in the exhibition catalog. Catalogs will be available for order at the time of notification.

ELIGIBILITY:
Artists residing in the United States.

NON-REFUNDABLE ENTRY FEE:
Payment of $35 per entry. An entry consists of three submissions of pieces. Our online system allows for multiple views of pieces such as sculpture or artists’ books. Multiple views of one piece count as one submission and the artist may submit up to two additional pieces.
