Our gallery is located within the historic Railroad Square Art Park. 621 Gallery is a non-profit arts exhibition and program space, offering progressive and innovative contemporary art exhibitions, events, workshops, and programs for all. Established in 1981, our gallery resides within a former 1940’s lumber warehouse that totals in 4,800 sq. ft. of exhibition space. The exhibition spaces possess unique architecture that can easily accommodate ambitious sculptural or installation-based projects — the open ceiling reveals the original wooden support beams, a metal roof, and skylights that allow dappled Florida sunshine into the exhibition spaces. 621 Gallery is the oldest and largest contemporary arts venue in the region!

Railroad Square Art Park hosts a monthly gallery walk on the first Friday of every month, during which all businesses and galleries in the area open their doors to a very receptive public. During these events, we host opening events for exhibitions; and, every exhibition is closed with an Art Happy Hour and public artist talks by exhibiting artists.

The 621 Gallery Exhibition Committee is currently taking application proposals for this coming year for September 2018 – June 2019 until May 20th, 2018. We are eager to reach out beyond Tallahassee to creatives in our surrounding region in the hopes of seeking practitioners to add breadth to our upcoming exhibition season. Our goal is to showcase voices from our local scene and beyond, and we know that there is tremendous talent and diversity just within our regional area.

We would both like to urge emerging and established artists to apply with their exhibition objectives with no limitations on medium specificity, from traditional to experimental. Curator and group exhibition proposals are also being accepted at this time. 621 Gallery’s main space is 77’ x 30’ with a 12’ x 12’ freestanding wall dividing the space into two rooms with the opportunity to take on half or the entire main gallery. The adjoining Nan Boynton Memorial Gallery provides a smaller (325 sq. ft.) exhibition space. This gallery is newly renovated and can be utilized for one-person shows or smaller group exhibitions.
