Artist Biography

With an art major background and having worked in fine art galleries and frame shops throughout my career, I opened Artisan Framing and Gallery in January, 2000. In 2009 the gallery was relocated to Marlborough, CT and has found it’s present home on Main Street in Niantic, with a waterview! The gallery represents the work of over 20 local, regional, and nationally-recognized artists, and my framing clients include artists, individuals and corporate clients. My own work has best been described as intuitive with a strong sense of color and gesture; abstract to be sure. I work in mixed media such as pastels, metallic paints, acrylics, graphite, etc., while layering media to accomplish the desired effect.

I have also revisited an art form that I created while in college — Body Prints. This is a method by which I paint your torso (women only) with selected paints, typically metallic in combinations of gold, silver, copper or bronze and press your torso onto paper, creating a monoprint of your body. No two are alike and each reflects the individuality of the client. The print is unique and feminine, creating a beautiful iridescent patina highlighting the female form. Having done over 1000 prints, I am pleased to represent a national clientele with these wonderful works of art.
